Note the orientation of the qd's on the beer and gas lines. Use: Push down the stainless lever to open the inline qd's, then pull them apart. They seal when separated, though some dripping may happen on the beer side. To connect, slide the male side into the female until you hear a click or they won't come apart when pulled. You might need to push the stainless lever to insert the male part.
