With this kit, you can easily perform the mash process. Simply place the false bottom inside the kettle, install the malt pipe, fill with water, heat to the desired strike temperature, add your grain, and set the mash temperature on the digital controller. Once the mash is done, lift the malt pipe, drain the wort, sparge, and proceed to boil.
Installation & Use:
- Place the false bottom inside the kettle
- Install the wire support in the channel at the top of the kettle
- Put the mesh screen inside the malt pipe and attach the handle
- Lower the malt pipe into the kettle on the wire support
- Fill with strike water and heat to the desired temperature
- Add grain and stir well when the temperature is right
- Lift out the malt pipe and rotate 90° when the mash is complete
- Let the wort drain and sparge the grain with warm water (165 - 175°F)
- Remove the malt pipe and start boiling after collecting the wort
Please note: only use the 500 - watt element to increase mash temperatures with the Malt Pipe in place to avoid scorching the grain.
